Every video you save with TikTok’s built-in Save video button gets a watermark: the TikTok logo bouncing between corners and the creator’s username at the end. That is fine for sending a clip to a friend, but not if you want a clean copy. This guide shows the quickest way to download a TikTok without the watermark, in the best quality available, on any phone or computer.
The quick version
- Copy the link. In TikTok, tap the Share arrow on the right side of the video, then tap Copy link.
- Open Tik4DL. Go to tik4dl.com in your browser.
- Paste. Tap the yellow Paste button (or long-press the box and choose Paste). The download starts automatically.
- Download. Tap Download HD for the best quality, or Download MP4 if HD isn’t offered.
That’s it. The file lands in your Downloads folder with a name like tik4dl_username_7349….mp4.
Why does TikTok add a watermark?
The watermark is an attribution tool. When TikToks are reposted to Instagram, YouTube or WhatsApp, the logo and username tell viewers where the video came from and who made it. It also works as free advertising for TikTok.
The important detail: TikTok stores the original upload without the watermark and draws the logo on only when you use the in-app save. Tik4DL requests that original file, so nothing is blurred, cropped or covered. You get exactly what the creator uploaded.

Getting the best quality
When TikTok has a high-definition version of a video, Tik4DL shows a separate Download HD button with the file size next to it. HD files are usually 1080×1920 and noticeably sharper on a big screen. If you only see Download MP4, that’s the best version TikTok has for that clip, usually 720p.
A few things that affect quality and that no downloader can fix: videos that were uploaded in low resolution, clips that were themselves screen-recorded, and very old TikToks from before HD uploads were common.

Is downloading TikTok videos without watermark legal?
Saving public videos for personal, offline viewing is generally tolerated. Re-uploading someone else’s content, especially commercially, without permission can infringe copyright and TikTok’s terms. Rules vary by country, so when in doubt, ask the creator.
Can I remove the watermark from a video I already saved?
Not cleanly. Once the logo is burned into the file, any removal means blurring or cropping. Instead, paste the original TikTok link into Tik4DL and download a fresh, clean copy.
Does it work for private videos?

If you are unsure, pick Download HD. You can always make a file smaller later; you can never make it sharper.
Downloading several videos in a row
There is no limit on how many TikToks you can save. To work quickly, keep Tik4DL open in a second tab or install it as an app from the App page. On Android you can then skip copying altogether: tap Share → More → Tik4DL in TikTok and the download page opens with the link already filled in. On a computer, the bookmarklet on the same page does the same thing in one click.
Each download button stays valid for a few hours, so you can paste several links and download them later in the same browser. If a button stops working, paste the TikTok link again to get a fresh one.
Why the clean file sometimes looks different
Occasionally the watermark-free file is a little shorter than what you saw in the app, or starts without TikTok’s ending card. That’s expected: the end card with the logo and username is part of the watermarked version only. The video itself, the sound and the quality are identical.
If the clean file looks blurrier than the app, the creator probably uploaded a low-resolution video. TikTok upscales it on screen, but the source file stays the size it was uploaded at.
Respecting creators
Removing the watermark removes the creator’s credit, so a few habits go a long way:
- Save other people’s videos for personal viewing, inspiration or reference.
- Ask before reposting, and tag the original creator clearly if they agree.
