Sometimes the sound is the best part of a TikTok. Tik4DL can save the audio of any public TikTok as an MP3 file: trending songs, original sounds, voiceovers, remixes and the music behind photo slideshows.
How to download a TikTok sound as MP3
- Find a TikTok that uses the sound and tap Share → Copy link.
- Open the TikTok MP3 Downloader and tap Paste.
- Tap Download MP3. The file is named after the sound when TikTok provides a title.
You can also use the main downloader on the home page: every video result has a Download MP3 button too.
Any video with the sound works
All TikToks using a sound point to the same audio file. If the original is private or deleted, pick any other public video that uses it.
The sound vs. the video’s audio
It helps to know what you are getting. The MP3 is TikTok’s sound track for the post. For most videos that is the music or original audio. If a creator talks over a song with TikTok’s voiceover feature, the voiceover may not be in the sound file. In that case, download the MP4 and extract the audio with any video editor.
Finding the full song
TikTok sounds are usually 15 to 60 second clips. To get the whole track:
- Tap the spinning record or sound name at the bottom of the TikTok to see the song title and artist.
- Many sounds have an “Add to music app” button that opens Spotify, Apple Music or another service.
- For sped-up or remixed sounds, search the sound name plus “sped up” on your music app.
Where MP3s are saved
| Device | Location | To play it |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone / iPad | Files → Downloads | Tap to play in Files, or Share → an audio app |
| Android | Downloads | Any music player that reads local files |
| Windows / Mac | Downloads | Double-click, or import into your music library |
Can I use TikTok sounds in my own content?
Inside TikTok, yes: just tap Use this sound. Outside TikTok, be careful. Most popular sounds are commercial songs licensed to TikTok only. Uploading them to YouTube, Instagram or a podcast can trigger copyright claims. Original sounds belong to the creator who made them; ask before you reuse them.

What audio quality to expect
The MP3 is the exact audio file TikTok streams with the post; Tik4DL doesn’t re-encode it. Most TikTok sounds are 128 kbps, which is fine on phone speakers and earbuds. Converting it to a higher bitrate later won’t improve the sound, because the detail isn’t there in the source.
Use cases that work well
- Finding a song: play the MP3 to Shazam or your music app’s song search to identify it.
- Language practice or podcasts: save talking-head clips to listen to offline.
- Your own original sounds: keep a copy of voiceovers or audio you recorded on TikTok.
- Ringtones: on Android, set an MP3 as a ringtone from Settings → Sound; on iPhone, use GarageBand (see the iPhone guide).
Trimming the MP3
To cut a sound down to the part you like, use a free editor: Audacity on Windows, Mac and Linux, GarageBand on Apple devices, or any “audio cutter” app on Android. Trim, then export as MP3 again.
Common questions
Why is there no MP3 button?
Some posts have their sound removed because of copyright claims, and a few don’t have a separate sound at all. In that case, download the MP4 and extract the audio with an editor.
Why does the MP3 sound different from the video?
Creators often add effects, voiceovers or volume changes on top of a sound. The MP3 is the original sound only; the video’s mixed audio is in the MP4.
Can I download a whole playlist of sounds?
No. Tik4DL works one post at a time.
Copy the link, paste it into Tik4DL, pick your format.
