This policy explains what information Tik4DL (“we”, “us”) collects when you use tik4dl.com (the “Service”), and how we use it. The short version: we don’t need an account from you, we don’t keep a history of what you download, and we don’t sell personal data.
Information we process
Links you paste
To fetch a TikTok, we send the link you paste to our server, which requests the public post data and media. Results are cached for up to 60 minutes so repeated requests load faster, then deleted automatically. Cached results are not linked to you.
Technical data
Like every website, our servers receive your IP address and basic request information (browser type, time, page requested). We use the IP address temporarily to prevent abuse (rate limiting) and to keep the Service secure. Rate-limit records expire within minutes. Server logs, if kept by our hosting provider, are retained for a limited period for security purposes.
Contact form
If you write to us, we receive your name, email address and message, and use them only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.
Local storage
We store your light/dark theme preference in your browser’s local storage. If you install the Tik4DL web app, your device caches the site’s files so it opens faster. You can clear both at any time in your browser settings.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Tik4DL itself does not require cookies to work. We may use analytics to understand overall usage (for example, how many people use the MP3 tool) and display ads to keep the Service free. These third-party providers, such as Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to measure visits and show ads, including personalised ads where permitted. Where required by law, we ask for your consent first, and you can change your choice at any time. You can also opt out of personalised Google ads at adssettings.google.com.
What we do not do
- We never ask for, receive or store your TikTok login.
- We don’t build profiles of what you download.
- We don’t sell your personal information.
Legal bases (EEA/UK)
We process technical data based on our legitimate interest in operating a secure service; contact form data to respond to your request; and analytics/advertising cookies based on your consent where required.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, and to complain to a data protection authority. Since we hold very little data that can identify you, the easiest way to exercise these rights is to contact us through the contact page.
Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
