Android is the easiest platform for saving TikToks: downloads go straight to your Downloads folder, and your Gallery picks them up automatically. Even better, if you install Tik4DL as an app, it appears in TikTok’s Share menu, so saving a video takes two taps.
Method 1: Copy and paste (works everywhere)
- In TikTok, tap the Share arrow on the video, then Copy link.
- Open Chrome (or Samsung Internet, Firefox, Edge) and go to tik4dl.com.
- Tap Paste. Tik4DL fetches the video automatically.
- Tap Download HD. A notification appears when the download finishes.
- Tap the notification to open the video, or find it in your Gallery / Google Photos under the Download album.
Method 2: Share → Tik4DL (fastest)
This is the method we recommend. You set it up once.
- Open tik4dl.com/app in Chrome and tap Install Tik4DL. (Or open Chrome’s ⋮ menu → Add to Home screen → Install.)
- In TikTok, open a video and tap Share.
- Scroll the bottom row and tap More (or the “…” icon) to open Android’s share sheet.
- Pick Tik4DL. It opens with the link already pasted and starts fetching.
- Tap Download HD. Done.
Tip
Long-press Tik4DL in the share sheet and choose Pin to keep it at the top of the list.
Where are my downloaded TikToks?
| App | Where to look |
|---|---|
| Google Photos | Library → On this device → Download |
| Samsung Gallery | Albums → Download |
| Files by Google | Browse → Downloads |
| Samsung My Files | Downloads (or Internal storage → Download) |
| Chrome | ⋮ menu → Downloads |
Saving sounds and slideshows
MP3s go to the same Downloads folder and show up in music apps that scan local files. See our TikTok to MP3 guide.
Photo slideshows: tap Download all images. Chrome may ask “Download multiple files?” Tap Allow. All slides appear in your Gallery’s Download album.
Troubleshooting on Android
I don’t see Tik4DL in the share menu
Make sure you installed it from Chrome, Edge or Samsung Internet (not just bookmarked it), and tap More in TikTok’s share row. TikTok’s own row only lists a few apps.
The video opens in a player instead of saving
Long-press the download button in Tik4DL and choose Download link.
The download is stuck at “pending”
Check you have storage space, then cancel and try again. Switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data sometimes helps.

Choose where downloads are saved
Chrome saves to the Download folder by default. To pick a folder each time, open Chrome → ⋮ → Settings → Downloads and turn on Ask where to save files. Samsung Internet has a similar option under Settings → Sites and downloads.
Samsung, Xiaomi and other phones
Every Android phone works, but the apps have different names:
| Phone | Gallery app | File manager |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung Galaxy | Gallery → Albums → Download | My Files → Downloads |
| Google Pixel | Google Photos → Library → Download | Files by Google → Downloads |
| Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO | Gallery → Albums → Downloads | File Manager → Download |
| OnePlus / OPPO / realme | Photos → Albums → Download | File Manager → Download |
If a video doesn’t show up in your gallery right away, open it once from the file manager; that usually prompts the gallery to scan it.
Saving on mobile data
HD files are roughly twice the size of the standard MP4. On a limited data plan, choose Download MP4 instead, or turn on Chrome’s Lite settings for browsing (downloads themselves are never compressed).
Common questions
Is it safe to install Tik4DL from the browser?
Yes. Installing from the App page adds the website to your home screen; it isn’t an APK and needs no permissions. Be careful with “TikTok downloader” APK files from other sites: they often ask for permissions they don’t need.
Can I download in the background?
Yes. Once a download starts, you can switch back to TikTok. Chrome keeps downloading and shows a notification when it’s done.
Where did my MP3 go?
MP3s go to the same Download folder. Music apps that scan local files (for example Samsung Music or VLC) list them automatically.
Copy the link, paste it into Tik4DL, pick your format.
